We are going but we are not in control. We look to God to be in control and that's where prayer comes in. Jesus said, 9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened" Luke 11:9-10. We need to be asking God to supply what we need and take charge of things we cannot control. Mursi People - The Mursi people live to the southwest of the Aari in the South Omo Region of Ethiopia. Nomadic cattle herders, they move around to take advantage of available grazing and water for their cattle, as well as suitable conditions for growing their crops of sorghum and maize. Pray that God's spirit is able to work through us to reveal His love for the Mursi. Travel - We have a bit of travel to do. We are borrowing a vehicle and driving 820km south to get to the Makki mission. Special prayers for the trip down and return. Pray that the team would be held safe as we travel throughout the trip.
Finance – Not every one on
the team has enough money to pay there way, the young guys on this team need
people to give them work so they can pay their way. Especially in the last
week before we go. We also need funds and equipment to support the work we
are doing.
Pray that God will provide all their needs.
Family - The team leave
family who will no doubt be a bit worried about them while they're away.
Some leave behind semi dependants like Haylee, Melissa and Jonathan’s mum
Julie.
Pray for the teams families back in Australia
Wisdom - God is in control
but we will still be making a bunch of decisions every day. Half of us are
in a totally foreign environment and we are relating to people who's culture
we don't understand so well.
Pray that God gives us each an extra helping of wisdom in every decision we make
Health - There are a bunch
of health issues travelling to Ethiopia. We can really take our health for
granted here in Australia. Ethiopian’s are not so well off and there are
many more diseases and health risks to be faced
Pray that the teams' health is protected as we live amongst the people of Ethiopia
